Jagadguru Swami Isa\u2019s annual Mahashivaratri message is about impending challenges that Earth will face due to human actions. These messages aim to highlight the brief window of opportunity we have to change our path and prevent significant disasters ahead. They serve as a call for people everywhere to awaken and take immediate, sincere action in any way we can.<\/p>\n
Swami Isa\u2019s Mahashivaratri address on February 26th, 2025 highlighted three main points.<\/p>\n
1) The \u2018mental temperature\u2019 of living beings has already increased. This mental (i.e. emotional) heat creates inner friction, agitation, and is very often externalized through conflicts. We can see this everywhere around us and will continue to see it in family, political, social and international conflicts and also in increased agitation of animals. Peace is increasingly difficult to find. If we do not cool down the mental temperature, mankind will face a huge existential threat. All of us should be aware of this and do what we can to cool down our own minds as well as assist others in this effort. Realise what they are going through even if they don\u2019t, and do what you can to reduce the heat. <\/p>\n
2) Nature also has a \u2018mental temperature.\u2019 This is the chemistry of nature, which is present not only in plants but also rocks and other inanimate objects.\u00a0The increase in this temperature is one of the reasons that the quality of natural products have changed so much recently. Especially our food \u2014 what we eat is creating more heat inside of us, resulting in a number of diseases.\u00a0This phenomenon is also what is observed as global warming, and will continue.\u00a0 We can face enormous catastrophes due to this increase in temperature, and we must work hard to reduce this heat as well. <\/p>\n
3) We will face the threat of ‘demon AI.’ Last year Swamiji told us about the grave threat of \u2018organic artificial intelligence (AI)\u2019.\u00a0 Now, Swamiji tells us about the two faces of AI: a deva face and a demon face.\u00a0 Presently, mankind is availing the benefits of AI, which is the \u2018deva face.\u2019 It is useful in work, by increasing efficiency and automation, data analysis, some kinds of innovation, etc. But the \u2018demon face\u2019 of AI is very dangerous, an uncontrollable darkness. Presently the demon AI is sitting inside a cave, waiting to come out.\u00a0
Swamiji warns about mixing the artificial with the human, which would eventually mean the replacement of real humanity with a poor imitation that is dominated by negative energy. The human being carries great power and potential which AI can never approach. When humans make a decision, they are doing so based on millions of human data they have accumulated. But when an AI makes a decision, it does it based on digital, superficial information. It has no real understanding or experience.\u00a0 \u00a0
If humanity opens the doors to the demon side of AI, it can totally destroy everything, says Swamiji. We already know that AI is being used in warfare for weapons deployment, for brain implants in soldiers, for remote fighting, and likewise, we hear that AI has already been reported to have made unauthorised copies of itself in attempt to stay online. <\/p>\n
