Since its first session in 2010, the Global Energy Parliament has passed Acts and Resolutions addressing some of the most fundamental challenges facing humanity, from peace and governance to education, health, the environment and sustainable development. Among its notable initiatives are proposals for a new model of Good Governance based on informed, responsible decision-making; Sustainable Economics that reconsiders the relationship between profit and nature; a Global Education Policy for Total Consciousness; a Sustainable State Model for integrated national development; and measures for Living in Harmony with Nature.
More recent sessions have advanced innovative proposals including a Universal University and model sustainable city, a Ministry of Thought to examine the quality and consequences of thought underlying public policy, and the WELLNESS Index, a new global framework for evaluating human wellbeing alongside environmental and social sustainability. Through these Acts and Resolutions, GEP seeks to translate its understanding of energy balance into practical recommendations for governments, institutions and society.
