"Dividing the universe and yourself into two is the root cause of sorrow."

Teachings
Jagadguru Swami Isa teaches that the ultimate aim of life is the attainment of permanent bliss—eternal peace—and that every individual has the capacity to realise it.
At the heart of his teachings is a simple yet profound insight: “Everything is energy. When energy changes, everything changes.” Although the world appears divided into countless forms, its underlying reality is unified. Fundamentally, everything is one.
Swamiji’s unifying theory of everything, the I-Theory, describes Energy and Consciousness as one reality in two states: one vibrating, the other still. Energy is vibration. When vibration ceases, it is the ultimate reality called Consciousness. Just as Energy and Consciousness are not separate realities, neither are the self and the universe.
According to Swami Isa, human suffering and global crises arise from incomplete knowledge. “Dividing the universe and yourself into two is the root cause of sorrow.” Without understanding the essential unity between the self and the universe, between Energy and Consciousness, people act in ways that create suffering for themselves, one another, and the natural world.
For this reason, Swami Isa regards the transformation of education as essential to the transformation of humanity. “Modern education has focused entirely on understanding the outer world while neglecting the inner world,” he says. “Both are one and the same.” He introduced a new form of education, Education for Total Consciousness, which gives equal emphasis to objective and subjective knowledge and reveals their fundamental interconnectedness.
Swami Isa teaches the need for establishing stronger connections between spiritual science and material science. He says that spirituality is the attempt to understand and navigate the realm that exists within the individual—the subject—while materialism is interest in the world outside the individual—the object. But one cannot exist without the other.
Swamiji teaches the public a simple daily yoga practice called Life for Total Consciousness, as well as more advanced yogic practices on an individual basis.
Because all existence is one, individual liberation cannot be separated from collective wellbeing. “Give to the world what you desire from the world,” he says. The responsibility for happiness and peace belongs to us all, as we are all connected.
